Denver Sage users

Just a trying to get in touch with Denver Sage users for many reasons, really. I see Sage forums for other countries, but locally, there are none. I'm sure there isn't a demand for a local forum to be created, but I'd be interested in chatting with Denverites (or Boulderites even ) to share info over private Frey Community messages or just exchange emails.

Some topics of interest to me are: What is the best local Denver shops for HTPC stuff? Who has images to share for Comcast/DirectTV/Dish stations for Denver? What events are interesting in the area to others regarding HTPC? What stores are having deals (e.g., Soundtrack in Thorton, etc., etc.)...

Anybody from Denver out there?

Enormous,

I am on 1st. Ave and Penn ~1 mi south of Downtown. I'm glad there are others in the area... and so close!

Do you think we should chat privately about Denver-specific topics or keep this thread running for other searching on local issues? It could be helpful to newbie SageTV/Denver users because they could search the forum archives and get local info and user like ourselves. A local community could bring in more converts . On the otherhand, it may not apply to all SageTV users. Thoughts?

Right on!

BTW: Are you doing an HDTV OTA up there in Longmont? I here the OTA signals are sent from DT Denver, so those close to DT get sweet OTA signals. Dunno... Also, not sure how surrounding communities fare either, so would like your input. I don't do OTA right now (bummer that SageTV doesn't support it) but when I get setup in next month or so, I'll give you feedback.

Make sure you vote for HDTV support. To tell Sage how important it is:

Yep ! I am getting pretty good OTA HDTV signal over here. Channels 2, 31, 4, 6 and 9 are pretty solid ... but I don't get anything on 7.

You bet I did already

It is a bummer that I have to use two different PCs now for my TV recording needs ... Sage for analog and a separate MCE PC for OTA HD. I can't wait to merge the two if and when Sage adds HD support.

Well, actually I can't do OTA cuz I haven't an HDTV yet either (so, for the timebeing I guess it doesn't matter whether Sage supports OTA or not!). Look forward to a new Sammy DLP as soon as they are in at SoundTrack though.

Alright dudes... I broke the bank yesterday at SoundTrack. Special ordered the Sammy 46" DLP w/ HD2+ chip (HL-R4677W). It is on sale for $200 off MSRP. None of the Internet sites I searched were selling for less than MSRP (possibly because it is special order only). It comes in 3 weeks! Then, I'll really want OTA support in Sage.

BTW: SoundTrack (e.g., Ultimate Electronics) is closing 30 of 62 stores. Not doing well against Best Buy, I say... Support the local stores when possible!

Woo hoo !! Way to go. You will be very happy with the Sammy. Wait till you see your HTPC in its true glory thru the DVI connection

If you have any specific question about setting up OTA (or want to check out my setup) please do let me know.

Thanks, sudipto! I am sure to take you up on it. Checking out your setup will save me lots of time, I'm sure. Will let you know when the Sammy is in.
