It should be. I tested that part. Just make sure you enable it in the comskip section of the detailed setup.

Can the Dynamic Menu and weather imports function with this stv? I tried the weather import and had an instant reboot.

Does the autoskip work with this stv? I didn't notice the setting in the options while viewing.

Yes the OSD com autoskip works. The setting only exists in the detailed setup - comskip section.

Does this mean it doesn't need comskip.exe, or is all that still required? I'd like to stick it on my server and have it process when not recording, but was curious if I needed all the other files.

Yes it still needs comskip.exe and comskip.ini in your SageTV directory.

There are basically three steps involved in skipping commercials:
  1. Schedule processing.
  2. Process.
  3. Use results.
When ToxMox says "internal processing", he is refering to step 1. This step can be accomplished via 5 known methods:
  1. Internal to the STV (like "internal processing")
  2. Manually (run comskip yourself)
  3. CDM (by cayars)
  4. DirMon (by me and my personal favorite )
  5. vbScript (by krutaw)
Any of these methods will "invoke" step 2. You will need some processor to do this. Normally comskip.exe

After step 2 is done and the .txt files exist then the STV can use them to autoskip.

Jere

Dang! Too slow!

Added krutaw's script and added link to the appropriate threads.

Thats kind of what I figured, as it was only a STV file. I'll pull my config off my desktop and see how it works on the slower server machine (it's got plenty of ram, but only a P4-1.4, hopefully it won't affect my server's stability, as it's been rock-solid stable since 2.2.7 came out).

I have a minor issue. I use the callerID plugin in addition to this custom SVT. However using this comob I lose the menu for callerID. I discovered that it still exists but its at the bottom of the list and out of view. Is there any way of creating a scroll so I can reach it?

Other than that it seems to work.

You forgot krutaw's great vbscript!

http://forums.freytechnologies.com/f...&postcount=494

I'm using version .3 or something, and I have a scheduled task that runs when I know I won't be using my system (3am-5am). This allows it to run full bore, and through all the recordings for the day. It also cleans up things too.

It's actually the only thing on my HTPC that I haven't tweaked in months (almost a year?).

Oops. Thanks.

I've updated my original post to correct my oversight and added links to appropriate threads/posts.

So here is my thought. Nielm's importable STV modules all come up in an "Enhancements" menu in Setup. Would be be possible to put the commskip options in "Enhancements"?
