Do I need to update Sage?

I have been using 2.1 for a while now, are there any stand out features in versions 2.2 making the update worth it? Also since I have never updated sage, will the new install over-write my settings (STVs, Tuner settings, favorites, ect)? Thanks in advance!

A few changes were mentioned in Chapter 8 of the v2.2 manual, which can be downloaded & read w/o installing the update.


I just noticed that the download page now includes the v2.2 release notes.

The best thing to do before installing an update is to back up your data files; I simply back up the entire Frey Tech dir. The properties files & wiz.bin will not get overwritten, so you can upgrade over the top of the existing installation after making a backup. The STV will reset to the default one when you first start SageTV afterwards.
