PVR 350 video out and lines at top of screen

Besides a couple of random crashes of the system, which have been covered in several threads in this forum, I have been pretty happy so far with this card and Sage.

One thing that is still pending (besides the crashes), is that when I use the PVR video output I have a line across the top of the screen. This line was not there with Mythtv but is most likely something the Hauppauge cards output. I am using an InFocus SP4805.

Anyone else seen this? Anyone know of a possible solution besides setting overscan on with the SP4805?

What kind of line, a black bar or something else? Do you also have this problem when connecting the output to a TV instead of your beamer?

Yeh I get those as well. I put it down to teletext artifacts. I don't know how MPEG coder/decoders deal with teletext but would assume it gets lost as it is outside the frame of the picture content.

I am ignoring it for the time being meaning to get around to ajusting the picture size so it goes off the screen.

1972, it is white lines, and they are more like very long dashes.

Doubletop,

I have a support query into Hauppauge as well. lets see if they know exactly what they are. Adjusting the picture size would be fine if I could also adjust Sage menus to be smaller to fit in the smaller area. I know I can move the menu up and down as well as right and left, but it would be nice to be able to see the whole menu.

Still not sure what is causing these lines and Hauppauge is not sure either. Doubletop, what type of projector are you using?

Do the white parts of the lines move or are they static?

And do you see them if you play one of your Sage recorded video files in Media Player? (i.e. are you totally sure that these lines are being produced at the output stage)?
