EPGdata update problem using XMLTV plugin
Hi,
I'm using the XMLTV plugin to import EPGdata. If I run the grabber program its creates an EPG file, however, when I copy it over the file within SageTV I can't see the new data showing. Basically if I go to the guides - all is showing "no data". It does not matter if I copy the epg file when Sage is running or not, the only way to show the new data is if I delete the source, then re-create the source, and import the epg data. However, this is clrearly not a solution if I wish to have it update automatically. Any idea what I may be doing wrong? Thanks, Itay |

Sounds like you're just not waiting long enough. When you copy the epgdata.xml file into the Sage dir, it takes some time before the new EPG gets read. To hurry the process along, you can goto channel setup and pick one channel and select it twice (turn the green dot on or off and then on or off again, as the case may be), then click done with channel setup. What this does is force Sage to refresh the EPG. Then that time will become the time Sage refreshes the epg every day. Keep in mind, eventhough Sage is now refreshing the EPG, it might still take a bit before it populates.

Humm, another possibility is that the plugin is choking on some bad XML code. That used to happen to me. Theres an app called TV_clean, I think its part of the XMLTV package. Maybe try runninging on your epgdata.xml before feeding it to Sage.

Also try the plugin tester, linked in the XMLTV page of the Sage Wiki (see my sig!)
