Sky remote & IR receiver

Couple of questions:

1) Does anyone have any experience of using a Sky Digibox remote with SageTV? Presumably via Girder it would be possible?

2) Does anyone know of an IR receiver that sits internally in a 3.5" drive bay? If it had a controllable display with it that would be even better...

I use a Sky+ Remote with SageTV. I only have a normal Sky Digibox however.

If the digibox and your sageTv setup are in the same room (highly likely) it is very difficult to use the digibox's remote with SageTV as well.

I use a USB-UIRT whose receiver box is about 5cm x 1cm and it could be mounted in custom cut 3.5 bay cover plate.

I presume that's because it will control both of them at once; that's why I was asking about the cable control for the digibox, it would mean I could tape over the digiboxes IR receiver to prevent it receving any signal from the remote.

That's right. But what if every now and then you need to actually use the Remote on the Digibox...

That's why I went out and got the Sky+ remote which has different codes.

Fair point - actually I've found the cheapest way to get an IR receiver seems to be to get an OEM Microsoft MCE remote, so I'm going down that road anyway. Hopefully with the MCE STV it'll be a nice match.

I have a sky+ remote too and it works like a dream. The TV option also controls my tv volume(I don't know if an mce control will do this). It only costs £24.99.
