Strange favorites recording errors
Recently, my favorite recordings have become a mishmash of intertwined recordings. A Stargate recording will change 1/2 way through to part of a South Park episode, and then change back to Stargate at the end. Has anyone seen this before, and are there any suggestions for fixing it?
I am using Sage 2.2.8 and a Hauppauge 350. Thanks in advance for any suggestions. |

Are you using an external converter box? If so, is someone watching TV through it while you think SageTV is recording? Or, is a channel change for another converter interfering and changing the wrong one?

No -- I have an analogue cable line going directly into the Hauppauge 350 on a computer that pretty much a dedicated server. I had no issues with it for months. The recent channel changes in the middle of a recording occur even when no one is home (the whole family was away this weekend), so I am assuming that the channel changes were initiated by Sage. I just have no idea what is causing Sage to do that. Is Sage trying to record more than one favorite at the same time?

Are each of these recorings all in a single file, or are they multi-file recordings? Is it for one channel only? Is there some other program running that sends event codes to SageTV (like Girder)? Maybe the 350 is getting flaky? Any pets with access to your remote? - Andy

I had not considered the pet angle -- but unless the parakeet has a lot more talent that he has shown while we are home, I think that's unlikely.
I am not sure whether the problem is correlated with split recordings. I will check when I get back home tonight (but I have not noticed any split recordings in my video directories). I also am not using girder (yet), but I do have two MVP's accessing the Server. The intermixed recordings are from at least three different channels. I am not sure whether the shows are from different times or the same time slots -- I have not researched it too extensively, yet (I guess I have been hoping that 3.0 would come out and simply moot the whole problem). |
