AVerTV CardBus PCMCIA TV Tuner + SageTV
Hello to all the SageTV community!
I recently ordered a AVerTV CardBus PCMCIA TV Tuner Card and am wondering if it will work with SageTV. DOES ANYBODY KNOW IF IT IS SAGE COMPATIBLE? The tuner is arriving tomorrow and I really hope it works with this awesome program! If SageTV wont read it, then what should or can I do to get SageTV to read it? Thanks  DBX

I *think* all of the AverTV cards are software compression only. If that's the case they won't work with sage at all. Either send the card back and order something like the plextor USB box, or if you really have your heart set on that particular card, try Showshifter. I think it works with the aver products. Inferior to sage definitely, but it'll work.

That particular pcmcia card looks like it has hardware encoding and uses the conexant chipset... It *might* work.
