Problem with 2 PVR 250 cards in same machine
Hi all
I was wondering if anyone can help me. I've ran a single PVR 250 card with Sage TV Recorder fine for over a year. However now I would like to be able to record 2 programmes at the same time so I purchased a second PVR 250 card. However when I start the program it only recognises one of the cards in the setup of Sage TV - even though both are installed with the latest drivers as shown in device manager - Hauppauge WinTV PVR PCI II (Encoder) Hauppauge WinTV-PVR PCI II (Encoder-16) Can anyone guide me as to how I can use both tuners to record 2 different programs at the same time using Sage TV Recorder. Many thanks |

I don't use SageTV Recorder, but as I recall, you have to use 1 instance of Recorder for each tuner. (i.e.: you'll have to run multiple copies of the exe.)

i see - but when I run the setup exe I only have options to repair, modify or remove. Not do another install. And when I start a second copy of the exe I get
There was a problem utilizing the specific capture configuration. Unable to connect analog video cross streams Also it doesn't seem to be a good sign that in the setup only one of the two pvr 250s is recognised? Help my friends! |

That's fine, I see you said that above. I think what Andy was getting at is that you have to start 2 instances (not 2 installs) of SR to use both cards.

The two instances of the EX may need to have separate properties files. There are instructions floating around for how to run multiple instances of SageClient. I think it has something to do with copying the installed directory to a separate directory. The same process may be required for multiple SageRecoders.

Are those both Encoder Type 16? If not, that could be a problem as well.

Hi
Yea, copying the directory and running 2 copies has done the trick. I think the key was in deleting the old properties file - without doing that, the second card doesnt get recognised. Thanks all. |

This is the SageTV Recorder forum, which is no longer under development. The suggestions you quoted in this thread are for that program and do not apply to SageTV Media Center.
