my Sage.properties file keeps getting restored

I've been trying to edit my sage.properties file to add a new recording quality. When I do the editing, SageTV and SageTV service are closed. I edit both sage.properties and the backup of it. I even tried editing the sageclient property files as well. However, every time I start Sage, all the files get restored to their state before the edit. Is there any way to prevent this? BTW, I'm using Cayars 17.

Are you sure SageTV isn't still running? Check the Processes tab of Windows Task Manager. If you edit Sage.properties and its autobackup file in the SageTV dir, there is nothing else for it to fall back on... unless you've corrupted both files and it is resetting itself to a completely new properties file. If any settings such as the video recording dirs or your chosen STV were customized & stay there after your edit, then the only way those 2 files could get reset is if SageTV were still running when you did the edits.
