I recently purchased a Kworld V-Stream MCE-200 Deluxe card which is based on the Conexant 2388x Blackbird chip, with Hardware MPEG Encoding. Here is a product link.
The card worked well with SageTV Trial 2.2.8 for the first 30 minutes and then the video became scrambled on all channels (extended cable service.) The video is a random block in the bottom third of the screen with the actual show shown in three tiles at the top in a very scrambled manner. The card works very well with Intervideos Home Theatre, Snapstream's BeyondTV, GBPVR, and Mediaportal. SageTV happens to be the one I would like to use! Can anyone help me with ideas on how to make this work? It worked beautifully for 30 minutes or so and then in the middle of recording Everybody Loves Raymond, it went scrambled, and it's never gone back. I've reinstalled SageTV over 5 times, and all of the drivers. I read on a post that the hardware bundled with SageTV is a Hauppage Rosyln/Blackbird card, which has driver issues. Maybe this card is the same? I know it's a knock off of a PVR-250 from Hauppage. Any help would be greatly appreciated in advance. ![]() |

Fixed It
Apparently it has to do with the MPEG Encoding on my capture card. I had chosen "Fair" quality setting, which is not one that my card can hardware encode. Changing it back to DVD Extra Long Play took care of the problem.

There are enough problems with the Hauppauge 'Blackbird' Roslyn card (grrrr). I have two and they refuse to work correctly together (audio cutout problems).
