Use the .STVI file in the post right before yours... Not the ZIP file.

EDIT: I notice that the import file (in the zip file) has a date of August 04, 2005...if that matters...

I just downloaded the one linked in the post just above yours (the link is to the stvi) and it worked fine for me in 3.0.12. Don't forget to reimport the stvi.

Well, I still get the problem with this import where all of the commercial marking are shifted backwards 20-30 seconds. The commercial times are correct, as seen in VideoRedo or Malore's STV. But when using this import they are all shifted to the left.

I don't understand why that is happening.

Oh well. It works perfectly in Malroe's STV and STVI, so I'll back to using that.

comskip skipping to end of file - Catching the EOF BUG!

I have a PVR-350. When a file naturally closes in V3.0.14 it ends early..and I never get the EOF bug. However, when any of the STVs that enable comskip support...and the comskip file has a commercial after the last part of the show to the end of the file I get the bug. I think the comskip FFWD is jumping over the point where Sage would close the file early and going right to the end. My machine comes to a grinding halt....i can recover after about 5 min of painfully slow commands but is hurts bad.

Any way to tell the STV to only jump to a certain point? Example...with the latest RC, it closes 250 ms early. Could we have comskip jump to a latest time of 300 ms early so that the show will be closed by Sage?

Just an idea. Thanks~!

Newbie question, but which buttons are used to skip the commercials when watching the shows? Are they certain "custom" ones?

I think it's Custom 4 and Custom 5. You might want to try DVD Chapter Skip (forward and back) also. I don't know if it's in the Import, but it was in the original code.

You might also want to report this as a "bug" in one of Sage's bug reports for the reason that Sage should probably have an option so that if a Seek command is sent that's to the EOF that it would stop within that 250ms also...... but I'll add it to my code to make it stop if the last chapter stop is within 1 second of the file end.

So far i've only seen the problem when it hits a break very early in the show.

Anyone else has this prob ?

My god, over a year since I posted on here, that's some endorsment of Sage
Anyway, bought SA, got the unlock email today, all installed and working, except I get the above error, say 30% of the time.
Does not seem to matter where the comercial is, it will just go black screen on me, but it's still playing because the audio is comming through fine and clear, just no video, black screen.
If I hit FF or RR it comes on straight away.
Using the latest Sage, with the Dirmon and SA, plus the comskip plugin.
That whole pluggin/stv thing is pretty confusing, why does sage force you to make a copy of a file already there?

I would say no for a point release. (.1)

Yes actually. You need an updated STVi for the comskip import to work with the STV from 4.1

I am still using the STV from my 4.0 install until the import is updated and that is running fine.

Why?
I don't see an issue with it either.

I have imported it into 4.1 with no problems either. Well, not entirely true, but I am pretty sure it is not a 4.1 problem as I was having the same issue in 4.0.

I have tried reading and searching this forum, but I can't seem to find an answer. So, going back to the offical chain, I thought I would ask here. However, before I do, I feel obligated to to tell Nielm how much I appreciate what he does. Thank you!

My issue...as mentioned, I am using Sage 4.1 with DirMon and Show Analyzer. The Comskip file in the Sage folder is the latest version offerred on the WiKi. I still haven't found the "perfect" settings, but in general I am rather pleased. The one issue I keep running into however is SageTV will "stick" when it does an auto skip on a commerical. You will be watching a recorded show that has been ran through SA, you can see the commercial blocks in the progress bar, everything is fine. It then hits the initial commerical frame, skips the commercial and keeps playing. This is all well and good except my TV dos not show the video, rather the screen is frozen on the last frame of the commercial block. You can still here the audio playing as though everything is fine. If you check the progress bar, progress is being made, but the frame is frozen on that last commerical frame. Usually after pressing FF/RW everthing gets back to normal.

Anyway, that is the problem I am having. Any tips or ideas on what to try?

Exactly the same problem I was having before it stopped working completely. I will try a few things over the weekend, but it's looking more likely I will be asking for my money back. It is a great idea, but sadly it does not work well enough to charge good money for.

You do know if you're using ShowAnalyzer you DON'T want comskip.exe in the Sage folder. They are 2 seperate programs that do the same thing. Maybe that is where your issue is.
