Various open bugs...
Runnning 1.4.5 on XP...
1) Sound occasionally gets out-of-sync with video 2) Video occasionally freezes momentarily (<1 sec) at the top and bottom of the hour 3) Video freezes momentarily (<0.5 sec est.) throughout the day. Very random. 4) Hard crashes occur infrequently (>once/week) after resuming from a long pause when watching "live" TV. This last issue happened again last night. After pausing Live TV for 30 minutes or so I went to the menu and selected a new channel from Live TV guide. As soon as SageTV changed the channel on the cable box I heard two "chirps" then Sage froze. I had to crash my system as Cntl-Alt-Del wouldn't bring up the Task manager. Upon restart I needed to go through the setup procedures to bring SageTV back up. While I had to go thru setup again, both my access code and favorites were still intact. Thought I'd pass it along. What's your hardware setup and what block size do you have your disk formatted with (if you know)?

What audio & video decoders are you using?

Currently using Intervideo NonCSS video and audio decoders for hauppauge. I thought I was using Cinemaster decoders before the most recent crash, but I cannot guarentee it. Also using Overlay mode.

I experience items 2 and 3 myself. Item 2 though may be Sage switching to a new mpeg file for a new show (at least for me). Item 3 is strange, video comes to a crawl (3 frames per second looking) but the audio keeps playing normal. Goes by very quickly and happens once or twice an hour. Also using the Intervideo NonCSS video codec and default MPEG audio codec. I do have hardware assist activated for the video codec as well.

Do you have the recycle bin disabled on your video drives? If not, when the files get deleted, sometimes Windows does some cleanup work that'll take over the hard disk for a second or so.

Recycle bin is disabled for those drives. I actually started noticing it when I added a second hard drive to my video drive list.

mlbdude, can you check the task manager when this happens to see what process is doing it? (there could be some other service running that's causing it)
I'm also assuming you've got 64K blocks.

I am using 64K blocks. I will try and catch it. It happens pretty randomly and quickly though. I was running with a single 120 GB hard drive for awhile and never noticed it. Added the new 160 and it started. I wonder if it has something to do with my IDE bus configuration (writing to one drive and reading from another at the same time). I am pretty sure they are on the same IDE channel.

With IDE only one drive can be accessed (read or write) at a time per channel. I'm not 100% sure about this as it has been a long time since I went through the IDE specifications, but I am pretty sure I remember reading that.
