The border colors already subtlely provide most of this info.
I agree. I particularly dislike the big red circle "Record" indicator. The red border is enough.

The whole point of the red circle in the LiveTV Guide is to tell you exactly which shows are to be recorded. While it may seem obvious that red-outlined Manual Recordings are going to be recorded, it isn't nearly so obvious which shows are in the schedule when they are favorites or Intelligent Recordings. For the already-recorded lists and the upcoming schedule, the IR/MR circles are being removed because it is obvious that those shows are already recorded/scheduled due to the fact that the shows are listed there. But, the type of fav indicator remains to say what kind of fav it is, making it easier to distinguish what type of fav the recording resulted from.

The First Run marker shows at a glance which shows are new episodes. Finally, the Archived indicator helps distinguish those shows that you have archived... something that seems useful now that you can include the archived shows in the SageTV Recordings list. They are also listed as existing recordings in search results.

PLEASE DO NOT GET RID OF THESE ICONS!!!!

*ahem* Pardon me, that was my wife talking... Needless to say, she loves the icons. She has always had a problem with the "standard" outline stuff, really did not like that. The loss of these icons would really majorly drop my system's WAF factor.

If anything, make it an option as to whether you want to see them or not...

I find it hard to tell at a glance what's going on, since the outlines can be difficult to determine. These icons are great. Even more of them for ratings and such would be excellent.

I still have a big issue with Sage 3 Beta randowly starting live playback. Usually this happens when I watched a show and delete it, or return to my menus, or after stoping a video. The last watched channel just starts to playback and its driving me crazy....

Is there anybody else who is experiencing this?

If you use the Options command on the Main Menu, what does it say the settings are for Display Video on Menus and Video Menu Style?

Display Video on Menu is set to: Always
Video Menu Style is: Background.

Is that it?

Yes, that's it. The Always setting will always start video playback if nothing is already playing & it will be used as the background on most menus, since that is the other setting.

I was bout to hook up the second one to another COM port (haven't had the chance yet - but now I may not even bother!)

Maybe I should just return them to Best Buy and buy two more RCA's???
I had the same problem with the D10. My solution was to buy a couple of RCA DRD430RG receivers on eBay. They cost me $18 each, including the shipping. A quick call to DirecTV to mate my D10 access card to the RCA receiver and I was in business.

So you say that if your video card doesn't support DX9 natively, then you have a problem? I think, in games DX9 functions on DX8 hardware are emulated in software, so you get the same results, but slower...
I have a ATI 9200 which is a DX8.1 chip, FSE works as long as I do not switch to window mode and back... then it crashes.

Help! No matter what settings I do on the aspect ratio, the black band does not go! Anyone know what the 'Full' button on the hauppauge silver remote do? I may have to switch back to 2.28 version if I can't figure this out.

That's the same problem I have. I wonder if the ATI 9700 Pro is DirectX9 compatible.

For now, no FSE, and everything seems to work. And if you are not using FSE go back to the pre-DX9 quartz.dll, much smoother operation.

Yes, the 9700 is one of the first to be DX9 compatible. Just do a google search for "ATI 9700 DirectX".

The 9500 is the "lowest" DX9 compatible ATI card, the Geforce FX 5200 is the same for nVidia.

Although I'd recommend a 9600XT or Geforce 5600/6200 (not TC) or better.

I don`t think this is related to DX9 compatability. I have a geforce 6200a, which is DX9, and it still is very unstable in switching between FSE and windowed mode. I think this is just something Frey need to work on.

Chris

NB: I do like the fact that I can run 1366x768 in FSE with no tearing or jerkiness ( apart from Quartz.dll FF and REW problems)
