PX-TV100U and Sage

Any indications (or ideas) if Sage will support multiple TV100s? I've got the tuner upgrade and replacement itch and these are an intriguging option.

The possibility of 2, and a max of 5.

For that matter, any useful review of it yet? I wasn't able to find anything that was worthwhile.

Also, any idea if the PX-AV100U will work. It appears to be basically the same sans NTSC Tuner (which I don't need with D*).

You might want to consider a different card, if the recording qualities truely are as limited as they appear:

ewe, thanks stanger. that would be craptacular, except for recording Noggin :P lol that's quite a differential between 8mbs and 2mbs DVD quality (though they have some numbers issues in that matrix) for the only options on MPEG2.

BTW: I believe it is a software encoder (it says: "Real-time DivX, MPEG-2/DVD & MPEG-1/VCD Software Encoding").

So: also note that while it is possible to have SageTV use multiple software encoders (it won't 'just say no'), using mutiple software encoders might be a bit tough on a system, unless you have multiple cpus/cores.

Yeah, I was wondering that too. Yeah, no SW encoders they are brutal on the CPU (have an old BT848 that's about 5 years old).
