Need advice on pvr 500

I'm thinking of buying a pvr 500 card but I saw that people had problems with it. Did anyone use it with Abit AS8 motherboard and in combination with pvr 350?
Thanks in advance.

I have 2 PVR-500's in my server and had absolutely no problems when I installed them. Sage recognized all 4 tuners and setup was a breeze.

Anytime you're dealing with computers there's a chance that some piece of hardware or software isn't going to play nice.

I'm using a PVR-500 on an aBit IS7 mobo trouble-free. I've found that like-hardware and major manufacturers will play nice. Happauge with Happauge, ATI or nVidia with aBit or asus, etc. As soon as you go exotic, you get problems IMO. You will be just fine with that hardware setup.

I am looking to replace 2x250s with one of these and was wondering if the two tuners can record using Max Mpeg-2 quality (12mbit/s) at the same time? I looked on Hauppauge's website and I can't find where it states the cards recording specifications.

Wouldn't that be the same as 150?

Perhaps check out the Hauppauge PVR comparison.

Thank you. They all 'up to 12Mbits/sec'.
