Question 1200 text files on HD, need indexing

I have been thoroughly looking for a crawler/spider/indexer, but have come up empty.

1200 text files in various subdirectories under one main directory on my hard drive. I need to index all of them and get them into my phpWiki. Of course I can do it by hand, but it would be very time consuming.

I haven't used anything like this but whenever I need something along these lines the best bets IMO are www.sf.net and www.freshmeat.net
