Feature Request - Define PPV Channels
I've been using the MalDude2 STV which has the ability to define certain channels (i.e HBO) as "movie channels" and can then give you a list of upcoming movies. I would like to see a way to define Pay-Per-View Channels separately as well.
I don't want them lumped in with the regular movie channels because I don't use them too often, plus Sage can't handle ordering them (I would have to do that manually). But it would be nice to be able to see what's coming up and play/record it through Sage if I wanted to. Are there any STVs that can do this already? Any chance someone who has access to Studio might want to try this one? |

I didnt know that PPV data was even available. I've only seen programming data for PPV on the Titantv service.

if anyone has any access experience and is willing, I can give them an access DB (with all PPV data in it) which they can parse into XML format that could be imported into sage...might be worth a try...
The initial setup would be the only hard part, the rest could be easily automated.. I.

I have Comcast Cable and EPG data for all channels (including PPV) is available through the standard sage program listings (from Zap2It).
The only catch is, Sage can't actually order the movie - you would need to use your cable box remote or call the cable company to authorize the purchase of a PPV show. |

My bad, I presumed we were talking about DirecTV (which there isn't any PPV data). I didnt realize there are people who converted comcast digital channels to analog.

Well, in my area Comcast forced us to switch to Digital about 2 years ago if you wanted premium channels (HBO, etc), but DVR has only been available for about 2-3 months and On Demand is still not available at all (even though they have been sending me ads for all this stuff for over 2 years).
Plus, Comcast charges $10 /month for each DVR plus a $50 install charge (no self-install option). Using Sage with an IR blaster to record digital cable is a much better option... |
