Sage always records even with IR turned off

I just built a new Sage box and only installed my A180 card.

When I selected a show in the EPG to view, to see if it worked. I found that I could not get Sage to stop recording. It did change channels and record shows that I set manually, but then continued recording.

I did not have any client running, nor was I playing anything on the server. I restarted Sage and it is now not recording. I'll see what happens next.

Anyone else see anything like this?

thanks,

Did you stop playback, or just go back to the main menu (which just pauses)?

(Stop == CTRL-G or Options/Close file in the full scren TV mode, or maybe the stop button on your remote)

Yes I hit ctrl-g when watching the live feed on my client, I think I did that on the server also. Nothing would stop the recording. I'll keep an eye on it and see if it does this again.

thanks,

I just tried this again.

Clean install, only select A180 tuner, and I cannot turn off the recording except by closing Sage.

Guess I should bug it.

Try checking your Sage.properties file for a line like the following:

mmc/encoders/-1320766858/never_stop_encoding=true

If this is set to true, it tells Sage to always record something on that tuner, even if nothing is scheduled (needed for some PVR 350 configurations, and perhaps others). Try changing it to false (close SageTV and stop SageTVService if they are running before editing the file), and see if it behaves correctly.

Hope this helps!
