Aspect Ratio Problems
Finally made the leap and bought SageTv
![]() In my detail setting I have chosen to use the source for the aspect ratio. Now when I play widescreen divx, xvid, mpg, etc... movies (which I do a lot) the aspect ration will come up as 4:3 for a widescreen movie. If I tap the mouse it will snap to the appropriate aspect ratio and all it wonderful in the universe. This very annoying though because my setup is on my big screen tv and I don't wanna have to tap the mouse everytime I watch a movie ![]() Is there anyway to have tv shows, dvd movies, and encoded movies play at the appropriate aspect ratio without any fussing?? Thanks, KoolKat_Milw P.S. I'm using an ATI Remote Wonder for controlling SageTv and want to get rid of the keyboard/mouse. |

Interesting that tapping the mouse seems to snap the image into shape.... I find that the aspect ratio setting always starts at what seems to be "fill" mode and then switches to the setting selected after about 3 seconds of playback.

For me it's just like salsbst's describes, 2 or 3 seconds and everything is OK. The strange thing is that I only seem to have this show up the first time I open a Divx. If I go back and play a Sage recorded show or "Live TV" then it will do it again. Not really annoying in my case since I didn't buy sage as a Divx viewer. Divx is just another great bonus.
As for the different behaviors. Maybe it a DirectX issue. I've noticed alot of differences in Sage's behavior at different DX versions. I'm using DX9b now. What about you guys? Edit:I'm set to Default(VMR on XP). Last edited by justme; 08-05-2003 at 06:22 PM. |

I think I'm on DX9a... it also may have to do with whether you use VMR or overlay.
