Angry Canadian customers left out in the cold?

Why can't Sage provide a proper EPG for non-American customers?

I've tried different plugins, but they don't work. I also don't expect a real company to consider a "hack" to be an acceptable work around.

When will there be an integrated international EPG included with Sage???

As nielm said, v3 supports a Canadian EPG natively (and works great). When I used v2, I setup the plugin on a number of computers in only a couple of minutes. Copy the plugin files, add it to the properties file and setup your EPG source. If you have trouble setting it up, ask for help instead of going on a flaming rant just because you want to.

You have to understand that there is a lot of work and license fees involved with supporting other EPG sources. Each country has it's differences and it would be too much work to support every possible EPG source known to man, only to please a small number of people. The cost of this would be too great than the revenue associated with the work.

Posting just to add that the EPG plugin does work. Myself and many others have been using it for over a year now to get Canadian EPG.

The plugin can be made to work, but...

- Install Sage
- Install someone else's plugin, which Sage doesn't support
- Intall yet someone else's libraries just to get the plugin to work...

Sounds like a kludge to me.

As long as it's not supported by Sage, is isn't acceptable to me.

SimpleSimon: SageTV explicity state on their website that the integrated EPG is US-only (in the currently released product)

It is normal that any third-party enhancement to anything is not supported by the manufacturer...

This sounds like a complaint just for the sake of complaining to me... The digicasa plugin works great and I was extremely happy to have it made available by Lestor...

I would suggest you not bother trying out any of the fabulous community developed plugins and STVs that have been created. Sure you may miss out on some very useful stuff that makes the entire sage experience much more pleasant, since they obviously have no official support either.

Seriously though, who needs support from Sage for the third party additions when their authors are all over this forum responding to almost any porblem users run into.

Well... Sage v3 looks pretty slick, but I can't get my TV tuner to work at all.

It was working in 2.x so I don't know what the problem is.

The cards is an MSI TV Anywhere Master.
