I have Sage start on bootup, followed by Meedio. Using fodder's MeedioSage addin for Meedio, I switch back and forth between the two with no focus issues. I use my hauppuage remote with the irremote.ini setup in which sage has to be focused to work. When I hit my power button in Sage, Sage sleeps and Meedio comes to the front with focus. Then if I press TV on my remote (or select the item I made in meedio) the reverse happens. I use fodder's plugin to facilitate this switch.

- When Meedio launches a windowed SageTV, the SageTV window comes to the top (sometimes) but Meedio still has focus. - When Meedio launches a full screen SageTV, Meedio stays on top and keeps focus. SageTV is in the background (can Alt+Tab to get to Sage). - In either case (windowed or full screen), sleeping Sage returns focus back to Meedio (it never used to do this). However, I'm glad to say that checking "Video Always On Top" fixed the problem when using Girder, which implements the "Is Foreground" Girder action. Weird. Thanks for that solution! Anyway, I think SageTV still needs to work on this. We shouldn't have focus issues when using a keyboard, and shouldn't have to use a special plugin or Girder action to get around the problem. |

I think the point was, why would you bother going out of your way to make these features work for GBPVR (which I promise won't be as easy as you think) if you're not willing to do the same for SageTV? And if you don't think Sage has put considerable effort into the core functionality and support required that made these plugins possible, you need to think some more. The whole argument doesn't make sense to me, but then, I'm happily using an MVP and online scheduling with my SageTV installation, so I guess I have less at stake than you. |

I thought that Version 3 would iclude support for ATI's HDTV Wonder? I have the RC2 beta installed but it says that I have no capture devices installed when my HDTV Wonder is fully installed WDM and all.

Amen. There is a VERY good MVP solution for Sage now... 'official' or not. There is a very good web server solution too.
Each of them takes about 30 seconds to install and hookup. If that isn't good enough for you, then have fun with GBPVR... Jason Quote:

On another note, I'd like to let the Sage folks know that I think they're finally picking up the slack on the feature list and have a good thing going!! Adding weather, etc is making it so less and less imports are needed to have the core funtions readily available. Great job! Overall really stable now too. Has anyone else been having problems with network locations for library content? It used to be (with earlier v3 releases) that I could at least see the network and connect to some of my XP computers, but not my linux server (which I can easily map drives to, etc). Now I can't get it to see any of my computers. I'm happy using Winamp to get to my MP3z, but it'd be nice to have this option work. -Adam |

The MVP solution is great, just limited. I love my MVP, but would drop it like a hot rock for any Media type player w/ sage client, that was not limited to only mpeg playback, slow UI, and random jitters. Hell, I would be willing to pay up to $500 for said media player!
I.

Yes it works on RC2 with no issues.
No, it will NEVER play HD or DIVX content. *IF* Frey (or Matt) made a client that did transcoding on the fly like the hauppauge MVP software (which NEITHER of them have said they are doing), then it may be possible, but would take a beefy CPU on the server. Quote:

Me too...
Now that I record a lot of HD content, I've been using my Buffalo LinkTheater a lot again (it can play .TS files perfectly). Would much rather have a native Sage Client (that isn't a full PC) that could do the same though. Jason Quote:

What is the criteria for displaying "No Signal"? All channels coming from my A180 card show this error. WatchHDTV tunes and displays HD vid off the A180 just fine. Does Sage display "No Signal" when it can't communicate with the A180 at all, when the A180 reports low signal strength, or when no bits are coming off the card? Thanks. I'm trying to figure out what I need to fix.
