WOO-HOO! All is not lost after accidental reboot

OK, this is not a problem, but I was so excited that I wanted to post it anyway...

I accidentally rebooted last night while a show was recording. In the past several releases, the whole thing would've been wiped out. But with .14, I'm only missing the minute or two that the system was down. This is a HUGE victory for WAF. Losing a couple of scenes and some commercials is nothing compared to the first half of the show.

I think Service Mode has always worked this way. Have you recently changed to using it? IMHO, Service Mode is great!

I used it back in 2.x land, but there were stories of problems associated with it, so I stopped when I started using the 3.x betas. Maybe I was just shooting myself in the foot this whole time. But it DOES feel so good now that I've stopped...

Well I just had Time Recording between 9PM and 11PM and at around 9:36pm my system rebooted and it did start to record that time recodring while wiping out the content of what it recorded by now. I am using 3.0.14

If your system crashes, as opposed to shutting down, I think it can lose what it's recorded..

Thus, if Sage hangs and you can't get it to terminate or otherwise shut down Windows, it's better to hit the power button once briefly to attempt a shutdown than to hit the reset button (or otherwise pull the plug).

If the show is scheduled to air again in the near future (I don't know how far in the future it looks) Sage will delete the show and record it again later so that it can get the entire thing. If it's not scheduled to air again soon Sage keeps the recording. I guess it assumes all of the recording is best and if that's not possible having most of the show is better than none of it. It did the same thing in v2. I've never heard anyone say that's how Sage works, but that's what I've noticed from my experiences.

I don't know, but I've assumed if you delete something, and indicate you're deleting it because it's the wrong recording, that it will record that episode again if it shows up.
