Looking for a SageTV bundle in Canada...
Hey, I'm looking for a Haupp 500 w Sagetv bundle, like what they offer here on the website or over at pcalchemy.
Problem is I'm in Canada. PCalchemy doesn't ship here and even if they did I would get dinged pretty hard at the border for duty charges. Anyone know of any 500/sagetv bundles in Canada? I'm using the free trial right now and want to move into the realm of being a "real" sage user. Currently I'm using a 150 and want to expand into three tuners (150 + 500). BTW I must comment on the forums. These are an invaluable source of information. Kudos to all those that participate. |

Well if Sage can ship to you via United States Postal Service then you should be OK as far as duties go. I know they are a lot cheaper than UPS. Once USPS parcels cross the boarder, Fedex picks them up for delivery in Canada.
I've recieved a few thing via USPS that had no additional Duty charges at all. Depending on where in Canada you are located, you might be better off just purchasing the Sage license online and picking up the 500 locally. |

You could always buy SageTV from Sage (no custom charges) and get the PVR-500 from an online store like www.ncix.com.

Like they said, get the sage licence off the Sage site and then hit an online canadian site for the PVR. If your in Toronto, Canada computers sells the cards for resonable prices.

Canadian Bundle Eh?
Thanks Everyone. I was just hoping that I could work with a Sage Partner in Canada. Y'know support the spread of the product and all that.
I'm sure Mr. Kardatzke and the rest of the Sage crew will let us Canadians know when their Northern Partners are up and running. I noticed Dan's post earlier and decided to head over to NCIX.com to purchase a Haupp 500. Will be purchasing the software very shortly as well. Only 6 days left on the trial (Yikes!). Thanks Again everyone! |
