What happens to Live TV after sched recording starts?
The WAF level went down recently in our house due to what appears to be a change in how Live TV used to behave.
Here's the situation: We are watching Live TV at 10:50pm and something is scheduled to record at 11pm that needs the tuner. At 10:58pm our popup comes up asking for permission to change the channel but the prompt is ignored since we're mostly listening and don't see the popup. At 11pm Sage obediently changes the channel...so far so good. At this point in Sage V2 (and early V3 betas I think) the Live TV continued playing now showing the channel of the scheduled recording. In Late V3 betas and V4 after the channel change occurs Sage stops Live TV playback and goes back to the main menu. This results in having to go back to the recordings list and start playing again to keep watching. Needless to say, my spouse prefers the old way and I'm wondering if there is a property that controls the behavior of Live TV following a scheduled channel change (but I doubt it). Thanks, Kevin |

My solution might seem a bit extreme but when I designed and built my Sage system I planned a way to avoid that sort of thing. Simply have main recording tuners in my Sage Server plus an extra tuner in the main HTPC just in case all the recording tuners in use and someone wants to watch "Live" timeshift. (was 4, now 5 in Server plus HTPC tuner networked mode) Never have a problem with conflicts!
