Changing servers with the client

I am running two Sage Servers. One in the living room that has the HD content and another server that will have the analog. (For right now I can't stream the HD content through the MVPs in the bedrooms) When I bring up the client in the living room it pops up the dialog box to choose the server.

Two questions:

1. Can I program my Hauppauge remote to move through the drop down list of servers? Right now I would have to have the mouse or keyboard to do this.

2. Is there a way to switch servers while the client is running? That is I am watching a HD show, then want to watch some of the analog shows. It is a pain to close the client then run it again to connect to the other server. Could this be something done in an STV?

Thanks,

Dennis

Here's an option: you can use the '-connect' command line parameter to specify which server to connect to at startup (p. 230 in the v4 manual). That way, you don't have to choose from the drop-down box & you cold assign 2 different buttons to start w/the connection you want.

I don't believe there is a way to switch while the client is already running, but you can run multiple instances of the client (-multi), so you could see about switching between instances. The downside to this is that it may be difficult to switch between them w/the remote.

Just an FYI.. update. I programmed my Go button to open the client instance with the HD content while the Green button opens the client with the analog content. I also programmed my red button(I never use it) for alt-tab, so once they are both up and running, I just hit the red button to switch back and forth. Thanks for your help.
