Problem with latest NVIDIA drivers (81.85) probably just me
This isn't a SageTV problem but it is on my SageTV box. It's possible that the 81.85 drivers won't work with MCE2K5 but expert advise would be appreciated.
Here is the scenario: Installed the 77.79 MCE drivers and set the mode to HDTV 1080i via component. Adjusted the overscan/underscan to my liking. Then I tried to upgrade to the 81.85 drivers. Now the display looks fine and maintained my HDTV settings (1766x993) but I have no overscan adjustment and the HDTV choices are gone. So I set the "Force TV detection" - "ON" but that made things worse. The display was now 720-480 SDTV so I did a system restore to the 77.79 drivers and all was well. I was able to set the display back to HDTV 1080i. So next I tried a fresh install of MCE but skipping to the 81.85 drivers directly - same problem no HDTV choices. I've seen posts from others with MCE that say they are using the 81.85 drivers so I'm wondering what I am doing wrong. The card is a GIGABYTE GV-N66256DP and works great as long as I don't upgrade the drivers or need to update my screen settings if I do upgrade the drivers. Is there a setting to make the HDTV and overscan come back that I don't know about? Suggestions? Thanks. BobP. |

81.85 doesn't say it is for Windows MCE. 81.87, on the other hand, does say it can be used on Windows MCE.

but got the same results. Is that the one you are refering to? Edit: Must be and I think this is a case of RTFM. Will try again tonight after reading the PDF in the same FTP directory above. Thanks. BobP. Last edited by BobPhoenix; 11-09-2005 at 03:14 PM. |
