Stop playback before changing channels?

Is it possible to use "Studio" to have sage stop playback before switching channels. If yes, could someone give me some hints as to how to implement such a "feature"?

I am using the Universal Network Encoder to watch and record HDTV via firewire from my cable box. Currently there are difficulties switching between channels when viewing HD streams. The only way to reliably switch channels is to stop the playback prior to switching channels.

I hope someone can help me with this.
