Going HD with Comcast, A180

I'm pretty much an HTPC noob so go easy.
I've got an A180 receiving channels to its composite in via a Comcast/Motorola DCT2244 STB.
What would be the easiest way to move to HD. I'm guessing I'll have to get Comcast's HD STB? Can I do firewire? Will the A180 hook up to it?

With Firewire you just plug the STB into the computer.

You cannot currently use the A180 to record digital cable.

Does anyone know if Comcast's current HD STB has firewire?

How does it work? I was thinking of switching to Comcast. Isn't there any kind of copy protection? How does the firewire and sagetv work together?

Thanks in advance!
