Another Video Quality on SDTV Question
Hi there. I have recently put together a HTPC and have spent countless hours reading and searching on this forum on how to setup Sagetv. I have everything setup and Sagetv works, but I can't seem to get my video quality right. Overall the quality is good at best, but my main concern is the presence of black vertical stripes. They are noticeable when the color red prodominates the screen or when I'm watching a poorly produced studio interview, skin colors show up with black lines through them. The black lines are very thin and evenly spaced from left to right on the screen. Here is my setup:
Pentium 2.4 GHZ 512 MHZ DDR ram 128 MB GeoForce 5200 AGP PVR-250 NVidia PureVideo (trial version) Monster S-Video Cable 80 GB ATA-133 formated 64k clusters Usb-Uirt with Kameleon remote setup with JP1 cable (thanks OPUS) Dishnetwork DP322 receiver Panasonic CT-27SL SDTV Sagetv 2.2 for now. Any help would be appreciated |

You should give more info on what you have tried.
do you have the black lines with the sage decoder? did you try a different s-vid cable, update/reload vid card drivers. perhaps a bad vid card as well. Just for the heck of it, I would hook up anouther TV, if you have one. Doesnt sound like a setup problem, but does changing all the various options effect it such as VRM9, overlay, 3D accelleration on, FSE enabled. |
