Moved PC, now totally black screens
So I was re-aranging my entertainment center, and I needed to move things around. I shut down, moved stuff, then reconnected it all. I didn't notice that my component-out (from GeForce 6600) dongle was loose and not connected. When the was PC booted, windows dropped the HDTV as a monitor. Sage then auto-started on the 'windows' monitor, instead of the HDTV, but all I got was a black screen, no UI.
I figured out the component dongle was loose, and reconnected it after shutting down. When I booted back up, Windows was saw the HDTV. I had to reset the HDTV as the Windows primary display (otherwise I get wierd overlay cropping to the resolution of the other monitor), but that took. Sage autostarted, and the nVidia SW forced it to the HDTV as it always does. But still I get only a black full-screen, no UI, no video. Next I uninstalled (after copying off sage.properties, wiz.bin, and my custom .stv), then reinstalled a clean copy. Without even trying to restore my config files, I started the clean new install, but still only a black screen. The system was running perfectly until I booted w/ the component dongle loose, but Windows is fine now that I plugged it back in. Does anybody have any ideas? Thanks. My System: SageTV 4.0 P4 2.8GHz w/ HT disabled (had stability problems w/ Sage) 1GB RAM GeForce 6600 256MB (PNY) - ForceWare 77.something (had issues w/ newer versions...wierd) - 14" LCD on VGA - HD Projection on component dongle @ 1080i PVR-350 on cable Fusion 5Lite OTA WinXP SP2 Latest Java (forget version, but installed 2 wks ago) Plenty of HDD space to spare. |

OK, it was the STV
I noticed a datestamp on the .stv.bak that corresponded w/ the first failure. I replaced the active stv w/ the backup, and everything came back. I'll compare the two tomorrow and see what happened
