100% CPU with version 1.4.9.rc2
I just installed version 1.4.9rc2 FROM 1.4.7 and I am getting 100% cpu---basically I am dead in the water. Attached is my log.
XP Professional Sp1 the only thing i did different was to install the worm patch prior to installing the new version over the top. Last edited by Jakebucky; 08-20-2003 at 07:10 AM. |

Something's weird about the way that was executing. Try removing SageTV and installing it again, then give it a shot.

I did try the reinstall. I even renamed my program folder somthing different and reinstalled so that it would recreate a new program folder. I then proceeded to reset up my channels, etc and then it ran up again to 100% cpu when I was remapping my channels.
What else can I provide to help troubleshoot the issue? Thanks- |

thought I would try again...so I uninstalled. reinstalled. Added my channel lineups, go to TV and there is no sound, so I verify the sound on the tv and that the mute was not on, verify the connections. Then I notice the cpu was pegged at 100% again. I forced it closed with the task manager, then reopened sagetv...now the intro splash screen is stuck with "priming seeker..." on the status line.

Jakebucky,
Can you email your Sage.properties and Wiz.bin file to support@freytechnologies.com please? I'll load them up on my end and see why it's doing this. Meanwhile, if you don't care about preserving your settings, this more than likely can be fixed by simply deleting the Sage.properties and Sage.properties.autobackup and Wiz.bin and Wiz.bak file. BUT please send the files to me before you do this.

Narflex-
I sent off the files you requested. I also then deleted the wiz.bin, win.bak, sage.properties and it's backup---restarted sagetv and got 100% cpu usage in about 1 minute. -Jakebucky |

Can you send/post the log file from when you got 100% CPU after deleting the db/properties files? Can you also give your detailed system specs?

Narflex-
I think I have this all fixed now. I tried again to reinstall Sagetv and I always got to 100% cpu. One thing I was doing was directing my video storage to be a fixed d: drive. I looked inside the d:\video folder and I saw several recordings that I did not record...I know this because just before I tried to upgrade two days ago I delete all but 2 files and defraged. Once I deleted the other recordings Sagetv ran fine and has run fine since. Hope this sheds some light on the issue... Thanks again- Jakebucky |

Were those files that you deleted 0 kb size files?

Nope...they were around 65 mb I believe--I kind of deleted them quickly before I though how off that was. The titles of the shows were something I would never watch. Maybe I need a vacation to get my mind clear again...it's been working great all night.
