MVP failed to locate GUI server
Hi there,
I've had an MVP working fine using Matt's plugin. I'm trying to reconfigure to use the native support in Sage 4.1. When I boot the MVP, it gives the message "Failed to locate GUI server". Any suggestions for where I should start the troubleshooting? |

Update:
I uninstalled the Hauppauge MVP software on the server, thinking that it was causing a conflict with Sage. Now, I simply get "Contacting Servers" forever. Matt's plugin was working. Any tips? |

Try adding the following line to your Sage.properties file :
debug_logging=TRUE Then turn on the MVP. You should get a log file in your Sage directory. Mine was called sagetv_0.txt. You could check this thread for an example of what you might see in the log file: http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/showthread.php?t=14907 This link should take you directly to the post with my log file in it: http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/show...2&postcount=17

Problem solved.
I had updated the firmware on my router. After doing this, I turned my MVP on (red LED had been off). But apparently that isn't enough to get the MVP to re-apply for a DHCP address -- I had to unplug it and plug it in again. It got a network address, found the server, and I'm up and running. |
