Question for WinTV-PVR-500 MCE users

Do you have to used Windows XP MCE to use this card? I was interested in running win2k and Sage 4.1. I like the dual tuner built into one.

Thanks,
DwarF

No, but you do need XP or better.

Thanks for the reply Stranger89. Sorry, I was in a hurry and had kids creating anarchy and asked a question I should have looked up for myself. I read on their website that it would work with XP, but requires Sage or Beyond, etc. I was hoping to not have to buy XP, as I already have a license of 2k.

Is there anywhere to find comparisons from a sage perspective on the Hauppauge 500 MCE vs the ATI Theater 550?

The 500 has 2 tuner, the 550 has 1. That's really the big difference. I don't actually have a 550, but IMO, from the reviews I've seen, any significant difference quality wise between the two is due to default calibration and can be reduced/eliminated by calibration.

Why are you running 2? Do you want to record 4 shows that are on at the same time?

Many users (myself included) have 4 or more tuners and yes it's because at times we want to record 4 or more shows at once.
