Sage Extender vs. MVP vs. Linksys MCE
Hey a newbie here...
If I wanted to set up a PVR wirelessly to my TV, which option would be the best. 1) Upgrade to Windows MCE 2005 and use the Linksys media extender? (expensive) 2) Use my current Windows XP Pro with Sage TV and the Sage media extender? 3)Use my current Windows XP Pro with Sage TV and the Hauppauge MVP? My computer is currently hooked up to a cable modem with a 4 port router. What would I need to make this wireless? Would a wireless PCI card in the computer and a wireless access point on the media extender work? Or do I need to have a wireless access point hooked up to the router and the media extender? Thanks in advance. |

I'll leave the wireless comments to someone else, but the SageTV Media Extender is an MVP at this time, so options 2 & 3 would seem to be the same. You could use the Hauppauge software w/the MVP, but if you are using SageTV, it makes more sense to me to keep the SageTV UI on the MVP too.
