Can not get PVR 350 to work on new PC

I purchased a new PC, a Dell E510 witha P4 3.0 ghz with 630 HT technology. Ia m running 2 gigs of ram and Windows XP media center sp2. My video card is a Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 950 and PVR 350. I do not get no picture or sound. I have done a HWclear and when I reboot my computer it finds my pvr 350 card and I install all the drivers and video decoders from Hauppague website. I can not get Sagetv 2.2.7 or WinTv that comes with the the video card to work. I get the following erros when I click on wintv: failed to create tv window htv=0xc1c7b0err=8 and on sage it says when I click on live tv: there was a capture error playback. Details (-2,0x80040207). Please reinstall sage. Also in setup sage does not see my video card either. I have also tried both my PCI slots on the PC. Anybody have any suggestions?
Thanks,
Chris

You need to stop the MCE services that start up. If you're not going to use MCE then disable these services. Right now they are using your TV cards and no other app can work with them. Can't remember what they are right now-ehome or eh soemething.

And thanks from me too! Last summer I built a new HTPC and "upgraded" to Win MCE. I couldn't get the PVR 350 to work so I bought a 150MCE. I just disabled the eh* services and the 350 is now functioning as another tuner for Sage. And just in time to eliminate some recording conflicts that I had. Thanks!

PVR 350

I'm just setting up my Sage and wondered how do you know if your 350 card is not recognized? During Sage configuration, on the 'Configure Video Sources' section, I saw a card titled "Hauppauge WinTV PVR PCI II Capture TV Tuner" but none with 350 in the source name. Should there be the words 350 in the title, or is this fine?

I am also getting a Playback Exception: ERROR: ( -4, 0x80040217 ), but think I fixed it by changing the sofware encoder...

Thanks for the assistance.

Hauppauge WinTV PVR PCI II Capture TV Tuner, that is your 350 video card.

I seem to have the same problem as in post #6. I too have a PVR-350 and get the same error message (ERROR: ( -4, 0x80040217 )) when I try to playback video files.

Post #6 suggests a change in my software encoder would resolve this. Can anyone suggest a software encoder that could work?

Thanks,

Dainis

As I mentioned in your other thread, try nVidia Purevideo or WinDVD/PowerDVD decoders.
