Favorite for HD and SD versio of Show?

I posted this in the beta forum with no response.

Is anyone using two favorites to record the same show twice on 2 different channels at the same time?

What I mean is this:

Favorite 1 is setup to record "Will and Grace" on Channel 4(SD) only.
Favorite 2 is setup to record "Will and Grace" on Channel 41(HD) only.

Is any one doing this?

In the latest beta it is randomly picking one of the two ignoring my priorities.
I resolve it by setting one to manually record.

Yes, this issues seriously needs to be addressed. A lot of people have a mix and match of TV and not all of them are HDTV or SDTV. Can someone please chime in with a solution?

I wish I had a solution to offer, but for now I do the same as jptaz - just manually set the other version to record. Maybe this will be addressed in the next beta...

naieve question... why would one wish to record both SD and HD for the same show?

for one reason if you have an HDTV in one room and an SDTV in another with an MVP you cant transmit the HD version of the show to the SDTV. You may want to watch that show in the bedroom with the SDTV, if you only recorded it in HD your out of luck

Another reason is that I have had an occasional problem with OTA HD reception...especially if there is a thunderstorm or high winds. This is rare, but still happens and if I have the SD version to fall back on all the better...but we do have 2 MediaMVPs and want the option to watch the show on them.

IKK said it best, not everyone has ALL HDTV or ALL SDTV there needs to be a solution.
