Thanks for the reply!
Sometimes I feel like I'm the only person on this forum who actually tries to use sageTV HD recordings in 3rd party apps! It took me several months to prove to Frey Technologies that their .ts files were NOT compliant to industry standard ATSC transport stream specs. SageTV flavored TS files are rejected by the NVIDIA Transport Demux Filter and HDTVtoMPEG2 can't recoginize them either. As well as many other transport stream utilities. In fact, the ONLY utility that could recognize these ts files was VideoReDo. Just to play these files back outside of SageTV, you need a demux filter which can tollerate sageTV flavored ts files (like Elecard demux). I'm guessing that's why Frey Technologies decided to hide from the above issue for now by switching to mpeg2 program streams... which also seems to have at least one compatibility problem. I have no problems loading mpeg2 program stream files created by Divco's proprietary HD app into VideoReDo. *sigh*

Yes I started that thread I was hoping to buy the software once I could actually use it with sageTV HD Mpeg2 files. I'm hopeful that we will see a new version of VideoReDo which will do that relatively soon. I'll post here as soon as there's a fix.

Aha! I finally got word back from VideoReDo.
They say that SageTV produces mpeg2 files with errors. No big surprise there. They agreed with me that because these files are non-standard, many 3rd party apps will not tollerate these errors. Same issue with the .TS files. Video decoders will tollerate sageTV hd mpeg2 program stream recordings, but performance and stuttering may be affected. Solution: SageTV needs to fix these issues with HD files. It's already been over a half a year since I reported that there are problems with these files. Once these problems are fixed, I'm sure that these mysterious stuttering/performance issues will drop significantly. I will send ANOTHER bug report. *sigh*
