Music Management (just questions no rant)
Ok, I'm pissed *rant* j/j
I cannot find a way to remove music from the library. What I have done is added a huge MP3 directory, couldn't get things to work the way I wanted, so I removed the directory from sage and physically removed it from disk. Then I created a new directory, and imported a CD into iTunes in mp4 format. I then added that directory to Sage as an Imported Media directory with type music. I then refreshed imported media. Now, when I got back to the music player, it still sees the old albums (completely gone) and does not recognize the new albums. Please advise, DwarF

Have you tried selecting "Refresh Imported Media" in the "Setup Menu"?

The only thing that got rid of the phantom files was nielm's webserver. I was able to search for the music files and tell the webserver to delete them as if there was a real file there. The webserver sent a delete command and it no longer appears on the list. Now if i could just find a way to get rid of imported video file listing from clogging up my Searches. Quote:
Now, for the .mp4's, are they supported in Sage, I dunno. if so, it may just be a matter of updating your "seeker/music_library_import_filename_extensions=.mp3,.wav,.wma" to include .mp4 with Sage totally shut down, service and all. |

For me the Music Library has to show up as completely empty in order to get Sage to properly remove the files. This doesn't work for everyone, but it works for me everytime...
Try removing all of your music import directories so that there should be nothing showing up in the Music Library. Then click refresh and give it a few minutes, you might even need to reboot. When Sage rechecks the music library it should be totally empty. Once it's empty then add your new directory. |

This is definately one of the parts of Sage that needs some code re-writing. I've never seen any media player that had such trouble keeping its library properly updated.

Has anybody has any luck lately with this problem. I too have music showing up that doesn't exist. The complete music folder has been deleted, and the it is no longer listed as a media folder in Sage, yet the music still shows up.
