Best way to record a single daily show?
Like The Daily Show or Countdown?
Countdown is on at 5 and 9 and Sage records both or none (depending if you set it to first runs or not). I assume they don't have some sort of first run markers. What is the best way to record just one of these daily shows? I have thought about a timed recording, but that gives it a nameless entry in the recordered shows right? |

You could try setting the fav to a specific hour via the Advanced Options dialog on the Favorite Details screen. (p. 70 in the v4.1 manual)
If a show just uses generic SH-prefixed show IDs & airs several times a day, this would probably be the best way to limit its recordings. - Andy

I usually isolate the recording to a channel that only shows it once a day. Some channels are better then others at using the EP ID. Use additional airings to find out the good channels. The daily show is a classic example. Or go with the time thing; my only issue is if they bump or change the time. I use both methods for various shows. The new time thing is a great addition; now if only they'd let me isolate to more then a single channel ?!?!?

You can set the hour now? Wow, that's perfect. Some of these shows repeat 2-3 times a day and it seems like a waste to record them over and over. Thanks.

Hi,
I like the ability to program (favourites) via day/hour,but could the hour selection be extended to maybe 4hours or 6hours intervals ..ie 12.00am to 4.00am recording window.... Could this be done in the configs? ..or is it hardwired into sage.? Thanks

The SageTV core only provides an option for 1 hour periods. You would have to create multiple favorites to cover longer time periods.
