Install Problems
I am trying to install so I can try it out. I currently use gbpvr and just want to compare the two. The program installs ok but when I start it the screen stays up for a couple of seconds and then closes. I tried using the debugger but it closes along with sage. Anybody have any ideas?

You can add this line to sage.properties (edit in Notepad; make sure Format -> Word Wrap is not checked):
debug_logging=TRUE Just copy & paste what I wrote above, because it is case sensitive. This will create sagetv_0.txt when SageTV next runs. There may also be a java error log in the SageTV directory. You've got all other tuner controlling software closed at the time? - Andy

Andy-thanks for the reply. I have made sure GBPVR is not running. The only thing is the Hauppage remote software. I attached the log.

You might want to send it to tech support to see what they have to say -- they can try to help during the trial period. You could also try the latest beta to see if it works better.
Another thing to do would be to set this property to turn off 3D Acceleration to see if that helps. If so, maybe you need to update DirectX and/or your video drivers. ui/accelerated_rendering=false - Andy

You could try not adding any music directories and see if Sage runs. This would avoid the problem I had with Sage hanging. If it works, at least you could look at the PVR stuff in Sage. EDITED Last edited by lovingHDTV; 01-23-2006 at 02:44 PM. |

It will not even let me get that far. It opens long enough for me to see it wants me to select the laungage and then it closes before I can do anything else. I am guessing it is a java problem. I have tried re-installing the app along with java after removing them from the control pannel. Just do not know how to fix it.

If it is locking up on the .wma file, then getting out any "bad" files of the scan area until you can reconfigure Sage through the UI would be easier than editing the sage.properties if you are not familiar with it. If Sage will start without any imports to deal with, then you can move the files back in and see if Sage locks up then. Then you would know that it is an import file issue and can work on it from there. |

Thanks for all your help. I was able to get it working and found it to not be what I was expecting. Think I will stick with what I am using now. Thanks again.
