Any support for older PVR Card?
I was wondering if there is any way to use Hauppauge's older PCI PVR card with Sage. I'd just be using it as a way to capture what's coming off my cablebox, so the tuner functions wouldn't matter, only the svideo input. I also have the pvr 250 which is what I'm using right now, but if this were possible, it would let me add another card without any additional expense.
Thanks! |

If your talking about the 880 model, yes it works. It has Hardware MPEG2 encoding and Jeff uses this card himself. See this thread:

Hmm, don't know, it was just called the pci PVR. Yes, it has hardware mpeg2 encoding. On the encoder module on the board it says NTSC 45231 Rev D323
I tried it with Sage, but sage did not recognize it in the setup menu. Any suggestions? |

The older PCI PVR card doesn't work with Sage, there's no WDM drivers for it.

Bummer, that seems to be what I've got.
The chip on it is the Conexant Fusion 878A, which according to this site: http://www.shspvr.com/reviews/comparison/comparison.htm means its the one that does not support WDM. Looks like I'm out of luck. Thanks for the info though. BB |
