CRASH! BANG! BOOM! KAPUT! Bug!
I don’t know what triggers the crash but I get the same error prompt every time with the same hexadecimal key every single time. It happens quite frequently these days and started about a week ago. It has something to do with closing a recording I was watching and returning to the recorded shows list. But I've seen it caused by nothing at least once before where I merely brought SageTV out of standby mode in the system tray and as soon as GUI launched it just crashed but it was recording a show at the time so it may be a related root cause. I don't know what's up but I have screenshots.
Again, it only started to happen less than a week ago. SageTV v4.1.3.67 (running on fully patched Windows XP Pro SP2) Java Version: 1.5.0_06 Current STV: SageTV3.xml (Version 4.1.3.1 – Dec. 15, 2005) JVM Heap Size (Used/Total): 38MB/50MB Video Renderer: Overlay 3D Acceleration: Disabled MPEG2 Audio and Video decoder: Cyberlink Someone help. You're running XP Pro. Do you have automatic updates turned on? Can you see what has been updated in the last week or so?

It is still persisting and I've gotten no replies so far. This time it happened when I deleted a recording I had just set to "Watched." It also produced a Wiz.bin.corrupt in my SageTV folder. Fortunately all my favorites and recordings, etc... are still in tact as Wiz.bin but this is a very infuriating issue!
I sent a request at http://www.sagetv.com/request.html. Was that the right spot to submit for help regarding a bug in the software? Last edited by Outvit; 01-31-2006 at 03:09 PM. |

It should get you some help from them but my experience is that they are less than prompt in doing so.

I would try running some diagnostics on your hard drive. A lot of those symptoms are indication of a hard drive getting ready to go.
