need video card suggestion

Hi I am a new user, and I need a video card for my setup. It has to be a agp or pci, and I would like some recommendations on what video card to purchase that works well with the Sage software. I would like one as inexpensive as I can get as things are a little tight right now. My computer now is a 1.2gig AMD with 1gig of memory and a 120gig hd using windows xp. I plan on upgrading the motherboard and cpu at a later date. Thanks for any recommendations.
Mike

Here's a recent thread to review.

http://forums.sage.tv/forums/showthr...ght=video+card

As of today, a low budget card (BFG 5500 OC) went on sale $59.99 CAD at NCIX (if you're in Canada). Other alternatives include the used video cards that you can find at stores/newsgroups.

BFG GEFORCE FX 5500 OC AGP8X 256MB 256BIT DDR VGA S-VIDEO OUT VIDEO CARD RETAIL

I use a Radeon 9200 128bit card thru the S-Video out with fine results. You might want to think if you're moving to Hi-def soon (the NVidia card above doesn't have digital-out). I'm not using DX9 features and have clear video and no stutters (anymore).

My config:
1 Ghz Duron
512MB
Radeon 9200
250GB HD
Hauppauge PVR150/IR/Blaster
Lots of ethernet cables ...

I'd take a look at the Geforce 6200, or 6600 if you can spring for it.
