Transcoding VOB?

Does the transcoding only work with DIVX and the like? Or should it also work with VOB files? If so, what am I doing wrong that is states "no media player that can playback the selected file"

I don't believe it works with MPEG-2 based formats at this time. Should work for most everything else though I think.
