Can Intel. Rec. cause Fav. to be missed?

I have a favorite that I only want recorded from a specific channel. I have noticed that intelligent recording will record the same show from different channels. I am wondering if a episode is recorded from a different channel using IR will it still be recorded as a favorite from my specified channel?
I suspect that it will not be recorded again because SageTV will see that it is already recorded. Is SageTV smart enought to realize that the existing IR recording is on a different channel? I have not seen this condition occur but seems to have a potential of causing a lot of problems.

If the intelligent recording does not meet all the criteria specified in your favourites details, then it will still record the favourite; unless you watched the intelligent recording version before it had a chance to record the favourite, then it won't bother. Basically, the favourite sould never be missed <---someone correct me if I'm wrong

I actually find IR recording duplicates advantageous; sometimes they screw up the schedule and the favourite is screwed up, and the IR backup happens to be fine. However, I believe the only time I actually get duplicates is on daily programs that don't have the EP ID, but are in fact the same show at different times, not labeled the same.
