imported media not displaying folders..
I have a folder on my system labeled, accurately enough, "d:\import".. within that folder I have subfolders named "music", "Pictures" and "TV".. within each of those folders I have subfolders..
The problem I have seems to be in the "TV" or video imports.. I have several shows from failed SageTV installs and screw ups in proper folders here.. so I have a BSGSeason1 folder for example.. within that folder I have all of the episodes of Battlestar Galactica Season 1 stored... When I view my imports in the Sage GUI I see all the files along with all the files from all the other "TV" folders listed, but I don't see the FOLDERS... Is there any way to make Sage See the folders so that I can drill down into the folders rather than displaying all the files together, regardless of the folder structure? What I'd like to see is a Folder named BSG, another named AmericanIdol, another named SurvivorX and so on, with all the appropriate show titles being displayed when I open each folder... Thanks!!! |

That would be possible in the SageMC STV using the media browser. I don't think it's possible in the default STV.

It's just such a mess having all those shows all in a single scrollable list.. the folders made it usable.. All this is using the default STV (with the comskip plugin.. so ALMOST default).. |

In Detailed Setup -> General -> Media Center Import Dirs, is there only one directory set to import Videos? I have a single video import dir & the subdirs show up as folders when a folder has more than 1 video... it seems to make a difference whether there is 1 or more file in a dir.

Realizing that the .wmv tag bug still exists, all my other video's in .mpeg are in folders. I set up a root folder on my D:\ drive called "Videos", set as Media Import directory...only importing videos. In that I have one called "Music Videos". In that I have folders like "Guns n Roses". In that I have a folder "November Rain" with the video inside, along with a sceenshot of the vid called folder.jpg When I go into Media Center>Videos, I see folders, ie "Music Videos - 23 Files" In that is the G'n'R folder, and in that are the video's with pictures for each.
I hope that made sense P |

I have E:\shared mapped as my import folder. In that folder, there are subfolders to Comedy, Movies, Music Video, Other. In the Other folder there are even more subfolders. It all displays properly where I can drill down into each subfolder. It also works when I have a second import folder, F:\Shared. If you have the same subfolder in each import folder, ie: Movies , then Sage will combine those two folders when you look at them in Sage. The only time it doesn't work correctly for me is if there are .wmv files. There is an ongoing bug from around 4.1.3 where .wmv files don't list in the proper subfolder, and even worse, display under the "internal title" instead of the filename. If the .wmv has a blank title, then it will be listed as ~1, ~2, ~3, .... depending on how many have blank titles. There is a workaround for this, It entails deleting the WMAtagparser.class from Sage.jar. It will alter the display of .wma files however. Perhaps you had recoded your imports to .wmv to take up less space? |
