No disk in drive d error message
Hi -
I recently started using SageTV as my DVD player. Since I first watched a DVD through Sage, now when I reload the UI (on my server/HTPC using the service) I get an error message from Sage (pre-load) that says "No disk in Drive D: Retry, Ignore, Cancel". The box that pops up has similar formatting to the "increase colour depth" dialog that comes up when loading Sage in a low colour depth resolution, so I assume it is Sage that is producing the dialog, not windows. I usually have to click cancel a few times to get rid of the dialog, then Sage will load. If I keep a DVD in the drive then the error doesn't appear. How to get rid of this??? Thanks,

It is because you have Sage set to search the D drive for media. You don't need to have this import directory enabled to watch DVDs. However if you want to inport media from the D drive you need it. It is really a flaw in Sage, ideally Sage would just try and gracefully fail but it pops up that annoying dialog instead.
Does anyone know a way to fix this? -Matthew |

The only fix I have found is to reboot. If you exit Sage and restart it, the erro will come back up. I was going after this with Sage support, as I could reliably re-create it for quite some time. The answer I recieved from support was that they could not re-create it. Which of course I could not either once I received their answer. While waiting for the reply from support I had changed to unc paths, changed the drive letter of the dvd to match the dvd drive letter on my Sage server and made numerous other changes (didn't exactly follow the scientific method on this one ). As I didn't want to spend several hours putting everything back the way it was to provide error logs for support, I let it die. I agree that this is a flaw in Sage, it should pop up the notice and have a way to gracefully continue on without the constant pop up dialogs.
If anyone else has a definitive fix / workaround for this please share it as this issue comes up somewhat regularly on the forum. |

My DVD drive isn't listed in my import directories.
The workaround fix for me is to keep a DVD in the drive; this keeps the error away. I wonder if it has something to do with autoplay as I was playing with winxp turning it off (because of an attempted intervideo install) when the problem started...

My DVD drive was never listed in my import directories either. I also tried every combination of auto play settings that existed. As I said before I violated the number one rule of troubleshooting, I changed multiple things at once without testing between changes. This issue has been the one thorn in my SageTV side off and on for some time. Either it is a completely random behavior (which I have never seen in all my years of troubleshooting computer software) or there is a fix, I am still hoping that someone has a definitive answer as to what that fix is.

I had a similar issue where I accidentally selected my DVD drive as a recordings location. I deleted the D: location in the GUI and then changed it to the correct drive (E. Evertime I launched sage I received the same error messages even though the references to D: where deleted in the GUI. Only solution I found was to go into the Propeties file and delete the D: settings manually. For some reason they were still in there even though I deleted them and they did not display in the GUI.
