Switching tuner on live tv
I'm in the process of converting from Tivo to SageTV. I'm still building the setup.
I have a question about watching live tv. I know I know- I'm not supposed to watch live tv. But I do watch live tv all the time in addition to recorded stuff. Maybe I just watch too much tv but that's beside the point. Anyway, one thing I do when I watch live tv is when a commercial starts, I'll pause that tuner, switch to the other tuner (on my Tivo), and surf for a while or watch something else, then switch back to the first tuner in a few minutes, fast forward through the commercials and watch more of my show. Sometimes I'll watch two shows this way and switch back forth whenever there's a commercial on either show. Can you do this with Sage? Thanks.. |

Normally, it will switch channels on the same tuner you are using. It will keep what had been recorded already, but doesn't keep recording the chnanel you were previosuly watching until you return to it. One way around that, to be able to watch 2 channels 'live' would be to mark both shows as Manual Recordings (use the Record command). Then they will both keep recording on separate tuners & you can flip playback between them.
