SageTV Client Hangs and Doesn't Play Server Recordings
Hi
I've had a SageTV server for a couple of years now and no problems so kudos to the Sage team. I have a new HTPC that has no encoding capabilities and I figured I'd try to make that a client of the encoding server. I downloaded the 4.1.3 client trial yesterday and got it going but it takes a few minutes just to establish the initial connection at startup. Once connected it doesn't work however. It sees the recorded show list but trying to watch a show brings up a message saying that the file is no longer on the hard drive. I also don't see a recording schedule in the client. Am I supposed to see it? The server is also running 4.1.3 and has been working fine and the machines are on a 100mb wired lan. I don't think the client is supposed to be this slow and it should be able to access everything on the server. Is there anything I'm notdoing to get the client working correctly? Thanks Yilmaz |

I would make sure the firewall is completely open for SageTV. Also, how are your recording directories set up? If you look at the detailed info for a recording & scroll down, where does it saythe file is located? I believe the client now tries to access the files directly & if that fails, it reverts to streaming via the SageTV server. Maybe it thinks it can access the file, but doesn't really have permission to do so. (?)
